This delicious Maritime twist on a the classic Basil Grande cocktail is a great way to get through a damp spring day in Eastern Canada and look forward to those hot summer days that are almost here.
The Basil Grande is a classic that mixes Vodka, Chamboard and Grand Marnier. In this East Coast twist we use JD Shore White Rum along with a splash of Chamboard, fresh strawberries, cranberry juice, basil and a dash of honey.
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz JD Shore White Rum
1/2 oz Chamboard
4 Fresh strawberries
2oz Cranberry juice
6 Basil leaves (+a few to garnish)
1 tsp honey
1/4 oz lime juice
2 cups ice
Method
Add all of your ingredients to a blender and blend/pulse until the ice is smoothly mixed (you’re looking for the consistency of a slushie here).
Pour into a coupe or any particularly fancy glass you want to enjoy this drink in.
Garnish with a couple of basil leaves you had set aside.
Enjoy in any weather, and think of the sunny days to come.
