How to make a Vietnamese Egg Coffee
Egg Coffee was something we were introduced to in Hanoi, it quickly became one of our favourite things to enjoy on a lazy morning! Not exactly food, not exactly drink – but amazing none the less!! Vietnamese coffee is dripped through whisked egg yolks, condensed milk and sugar. It’s so thick that you need a spoon to eat it!

We knew that this was something that we needed to make after we left Vietnam so we figured out a recipe…
Ingredients:
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of granulated sugar
- 2 shots (50ml) of Vietnamese coffee
Method:
1. Add egg yolks, condensed milk and sugar to a mixing bowl and whisk until thick and frothy.
2. Spoon the mixture into a coffee cup.
3. Pour the double shot of freshly made coffee through the mixture and leave to settle.
4. Serve with a teaspoon. To keep the drink warm you can serve it with the coffee cup sitting in a bowl of boiling water.
